Explore a South Walton FL State Park

South Walton, Florida is home to a number of palatial state parks to explore. Topsail Hill Preserve State Park, Grayton Beach State Park, and Deer Lake State Park are all located along Scenic Highway 30A, just East of Destin, with access to the wide-open white sand beaches and crystal clear waters of South Walton.

Walton County offers a complimentary day-use parking admission to Grayton Beach State Park and Topsail Hill Preserve State Park every year between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Walton County began this program 8 years ago with Topsail Hill State Park and this year marks the 6th year including Grayton Beach State Park. This program is designed to encourage both locals and visitors to enjoy the unmatched natural beauty only found on the Gulf Coast in Walton County!

Topsail Hill Preserve State Park is located on the Western end of Scenic Highway 30A and boasts 3 miles of protected and pristine beachfront! Hiking, biking, camping, and bird watching are just a few fun activities you can experience while at Topsail.

Grayton Beach State Park is situated at approximately the middle point of Scenic Highway 98. The park boasts 4 miles of hiking trails and a coastal dune lake, a geographic anomaly unique to this area, where many enjoy paddle boarding or fishing year-round! Oftentimes, Grayton Beach State Park visitors will find themselves enjoying a bite to eat at the regionally famous Red Bar restaurant. This spot is located just steps off the beach and is adjacent to the state park. With so much outdoor activity along this stretch of beach, one could really make a full day of it!

Deer Lake State Park is located on the eastern end of the Scenic Highway 30A corridor. It is currently undergoing major renovations that include improvements to park amenities, including the addition of a paved park access road, plenty of parking, picnic gazebos & shelters, restroom facilities and connections to utilities. This project began in August 2021 with a projected completion of August 2022. Sign up for our newsletter for Deer Lake State Park construction updates!

This expansive estate features 163 acres of land open to exploring with hiking trails leading all the way to Tucker Bayou. The historic Wesley House is the main attraction and favorite photo spot among visitors at Eden Gardens. Tours of the home are available most days from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm. Currently, there is a maximum of 10 people per tour and the tours take about 30 - 45 minutes each.
